Motivational Monday #2: Fall 7 Times, Stand Up 8!

There are many times where you just want to quit. You fail, make mistakes, and are so deep in error that you just want to close your eyes and never try again.

It’s in these moments where you have a choice—to let yourself fall and give up or to stand back up again. Making that choice will fundamentally change your life, because if you chose to stand back up, you’re choosing to strive for more and hope for better.

With pain and misery comes adversity, and you will be greater for going through these experiences. So the next time you fall, stand back up.

It’s not about each failure or obstacle that gets in the way, it’s about your end goal and where you want to be.

How You Can Implement This In Your Life:

Change Your Approach

There’s a reason why you didn’t succeed…the first time, the fourth time, and the sixth.

If you fall and fail, learn from your past and don’t repeat mistakes. Analyze each barrier or obstacle you had and change your approach. You won’t be able to reach your goals by using the same methods that made you fail in the first place. Keep tweaking your steps until it’s perfect.

There are plenty of times where you’ve done this in your life already, so you can definitely do it again. A good example of this would be driving. The first time you got into a car, you barely knew what you were doing. There might have been a time where you bumped into an object, slammed on the brakes too hard, or turned the corner too quickly.

Each time you made an error, you adjusted your method. Without realizing it, you didn’t let any obstacles stop you from continuing to drive and learning from your mistakes.

Now you just have to apply this concept to other areas in your life!

Don’t Give Up

With every situation you get stuck in, think of longevity and the greater goal. Let this rule your life, your mindset should be that if you fall, you’re going to get back up because you haven’t reached your end goal yet.

No matter what obstacles you hit along the way or how many more times you need to change your approach, you will get there. Just shake it off and carry on.

The values that you instill in yourself along the way—discipline, adversity, relentlessness—will shape your future and you’ll carry them with you as you learn and grow.

Embrace the Journey

Reaching the top means you’ve passed a lot along the way. If you got to where you wanted to be tomorrow, it wouldn’t be as satisfying. Accept the fact that you’re not there yet and allow yourself to embrace the present.

While you might have failures, tears, hardships, and pain, you’ll also have joys, celebrations, wins, and great memories. Focus on the positive as you continue to pine your way through each obstacle. One day you’ll look back and appreciate the journey.

Although you might not realize it then, these experiences are what will contribute to the way you think and act later.

Life’s an unstructured adventure—embrace it
